Produce Assistant

The Produce Assistant role is onsite in Bismarck, ND, with pay of $20 per hour. The position supports Natural Grocers’ produce department and its customer-service and health-and-wellness focus. The assistant helps the Produce Manager operate the department by maintaining fresh, stocked produce, supporting ordering and inventory, handling organic produce, and assisting with staff training and customer service. The role also includes cashier backup and a schedule that may include evenings, weekends, and holidays.

What you'll do

• Assist the Produce Manager with department operations and profitability
• maintain produce displays and inventory
• cull, crisp, rotate, handle, and store produce
• ensure certified organic produce is ordered and received
• receive orders
• assist with training and monitoring department personnel
• conduct demonstrations
• provide customer service and backup cashiering
• maintain safety and cleanliness.
