Dental Assistant — Correctional Healthcare

What you'll do

• Prepare the operatory with instruments and materials for scheduled patients. Assist the dentist during treatment by providing instruments and materials, retracting, or suctioning
• sterilize instruments and disinfect the operatory between patients. Schedule appointments, perform laboratory procedures such as mixing denture impression material, develop and mount routine radiographs, and maintain dental charts and records. Follow security rules for keys, sharps, and controlled medications
• follow safety, disaster-drill, and infection-control procedures
• inventory and order supplies
• and attend required training and meetings.
