Software QA Automation Lead | AI-Assisted Testing

Job overview

The Software QA Automation Lead role is hybrid, mostly remote, with in-person design or whiteboard sessions in Phoenix, AZ as needed; candidates must reside in Arizona and work U.S. business hours in the Arizona time zone. Compensation is $50–$63 per hour W-2 or $55–$67 per hour corp-to-corp. The role supports a direct client’s quality platform for mission-critical software at ASRS. The lead owns automation strategy and platform evolution, embeds quality checks into development and delivery, and works with architects and DevOps to improve testing and release processes. The role also mentors QA engineers and uses metrics and AI-assisted testing approaches to improve coverage, reliability, and developer feedback.

What you'll do

• Set automation strategy, architecture, and standards
• drive pull-request tests, API checks, and CI/CD quality gates
• apply AI-assisted test generation, self-healing locators, flake triage, and test-impact analysis
• streamline pipelines, test data, environments, and release guardrails with DevOps
• collaborate with architects on systemic issues and technical debt
• expand web, UI, API, and integration test coverage
• mentor QA engineers and review automation code
• build quality dashboards
• lead root-cause investigations across test and production.
