Lab Project Coordinator

Job overview

The Lab Project Coordinator role is onsite in Columbia, South Carolina. Compensation is $20 per hour. The coordinator supports the Project Management Team and serves as a liaison between project management and sample receiving/log-in teams. The role coordinates project intake, documentation, sample receiving, and client communication so project information and samples are accurately logged and routed. This administrative and operational support helps the team execute client projects successfully.

What you'll do

• Greet walk-in clients and provide basic sample drop-off instructions
• answer and route calls and take messages
• perform office administration
• learn common lab tests and services to guide clients
• prepare and verify chain-of-custody paperwork
• check sample labels, dates, times, preservation, temperature, and paperwork
• enter samples into LIMS, assign lab numbers, label and stage samples, and refrigerate when required
• flag and escalate intake issues
• maintain front-desk supplies, forms, and sample containers.

Why this role

Requires a bachelor’s degree in business administration, chemistry, biology, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience; one year of customer-service experience is required. Prior laboratory experience is preferred.
