The Operational Risk Specialist is an onsite role in Moorefield, WV, paying $20–$27 per hour. Burke & Herbert Bank & Trust’s operational risk program supports accurate, confidential, and timely handling of customer-related legal requests while helping identify and mitigate risk across the Bank. The role processes legal documents and coordinates responses with external authorities and internal teams, while also supporting risk assessments, incident reporting, control reviews, issue tracking, and audit and regulatory requests. Its purpose is to help the Bank meet legal and operational requirements and strengthen its controls.

What you'll do

• Receive, log, review, research, and process customer-related legal document requests
• assess service, completeness, jurisdiction, deadlines, affected accounts, and required actions
• coordinate with attorneys, courts, agencies, Legal Counsel, Compliance, and operations teams
• request authorized account actions
• prepare and securely transmit responses
• maintain case files and tracking records
• escalate complex or overdue matters
• assist with risk assessments, control reviews, incident analysis, remediation tracking, and risk reporting.
