Evening Care Lead Teacher

The Evening Care Lead Teacher role is onsite in Rochester, NY, with the program operating Monday through Thursday during Monroe Community College’s fall and spring semesters from 4:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.; the lead teacher’s start time is 5:00 p.m. Pay is $21–$22 per hour. The role supports the Richard M. Guon Child Care Center’s evening early-care and education program. The lead teacher plans and implements developmentally appropriate care and learning, supervises caregivers and volunteers, and maintains a safe, engaging classroom. The role also builds family relationships and communicates children’s activities and development to parents.

What you'll do

• Plan and implement an age-appropriate curriculum
• create a safe and stimulating learning environment
• prepare classroom materials and maintain supplies
• support children’s personal care needs
• observe and record children’s interests, growth, and development
• refer children for special services when appropriate
• supervise caregivers, interns, and volunteers
• communicate with parents and hold conferences
• keep the center director informed of family concerns or needs.

Why this role
