This role exists to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care by assisting staff during operative and invasive procedures, ensuring the operating room is prepared, and acting as a preceptor for other techs. The technologist will scrub Level III procedures and maintain a safe patient care environment.

What you'll do

• Scrub Level III procedures (total joint replacements, complex orthopedic, neuro and spine procedures, peripheral vascular).
• Scrubbing a minimum of 3 of the 5 procedures.
• Work with Housekeeping and Central Processing staff to clean the Operating Rooms and equipment between patients.
• Participate in safety initiatives to ensure correct surgery inpatient identification and verification of the procedure.
• Anticipate and meet the needs of the surgeon.
• Count all sponges, needles and instruments with the circulating RN.
• Follow patient and employee safety/security policies and protocols.
• Consistently assist the patient care team with maintaining a clean, well-stocked/organized, and safe patient care environment.

What we're looking for

Education

Completion of surgical technologist course preferred.

Experience

Five (5) years of experience required.
