Patient Communication Coordinator

The Patient Communication Coordinator role is onsite in Greenwood, IN, in a call center supporting multiple practice locations and provider schedules. Compensation is $18–$25 per hour, depending on relevant experience. The role supports a boutique eye care practice’s Patient Experience team and its goal of providing exceptional care and service. As a first point of contact for patients and families, the coordinator handles calls, provides information, schedules appointments, coordinates referrals, and addresses concerns. Accurate documentation, privacy practices, and coordination across providers help maintain patient access and clinic flow.

What you'll do

• Answer incoming calls empathetically and route or escalate them appropriately
• provide information about services and appointment processes
• schedule exams, follow-ups, specialty visits, and urgent cases using EHR and scheduling tools
• coordinate schedules across providers and locations
• manage changes, cancellations, and rescheduling
• support referral calls by communicating with referring offices
• place reminder calls or messages and document outcomes
• report recurring issues or bottlenecks
• resolve scheduling conflicts and patient concerns
• uphold HIPAA and company privacy policies.
