What you'll do

• Participate in diagnosis, care, and treatment
• interview newly admitted individuals and obtain histories
• conduct intellectual and physical evaluations
• make daily rounds and modify treatment plans
• provide individual and group psychotherapy
• instruct unit staff
• review records
• meet with visitors and treatment teams
• prescribe medication or therapies
• investigate complaints and unusual occurrences
• may manage medical and surgical treatments, review psychiatric residents’ work, testify in court, or perform physical examinations.
