Telephone Triage Nurse or Medical Assistant — ENT

Accurate documentation and timely escalation help patients receive the appropriate level and timing of care.

What you'll do

• Provide telephone triage for adult and pediatric ENT patients
• assess symptoms and determine appropriate care timing
• identify urgent and emergent symptoms and escalate
• provide home-care instructions within established protocols
• determine when patients should be scheduled with a physician, APP, urgent care, or emergency department
• communicate concerns to providers
• respond to messages and telephone encounters
• document interactions in the electronic medical record
• obtain prior authorizations for medications and diagnostic imaging.
