Job overview

The Residential Network and Smart Home Technician role is onsite and field-based in the Carmel, Zionsville, and Indianapolis area. Compensation is $24–$35 per hour. Digital Home Design installs integrated residential audio/video, automation, security, lighting control, and networking systems. The technician installs, configures, and supports home technology systems, combining physical installation with network and system configuration. The work helps ensure reliable connectivity and performance across residential audio/video, automation, security, and lighting systems.

What you'll do

• Install, terminate, label, and test low-voltage cabling
• mount televisions, speakers, projectors, racks, and related hardware
• install and configure routers, managed switches, wireless access points, and residential LANs
• configure IP addressing and basic subnetting
• install and support Control4, Crestron Home, Josh.ai, and Lutron systems
• troubleshoot A/V, network, Wi-Fi, lighting, and satellite issues
• document work and communicate with homeowners, builders, and team members.
