Resource Room Teacher – Special Education

The Resource Room Teacher role is onsite at Redford Service Learning Academy in Redford, MI, and follows a Monday–Wednesday schedule from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Compensation is not specified. The teacher supports the school’s Special Education department. The role provides specialized learning experiences and supervision for students with individual learning needs, aligning instruction with curriculum standards and applicable special education rules. It contributes through individualized support, evaluation and IEP participation, and collaboration with school staff, families, and outside agencies.

What you'll do

• Implement and maintain special education programs and services under federal and state rules and district policies
• provide specialized learning experiences and supervise students with individual learning needs
• write and participate in METs, REEDs, and IEPs
• maintain a caseload of no more than 23 students
• review evaluations and relevant records for planning meetings
• collaborate with the MTSS Coordinator, administrators, teachers, parents, and outside agencies to share information and provide curriculum support
• travel to other district buildings as required.

Why this role
