Dental Hygienist

What you'll do

• Remove deposits, accretions, and stains from teeth and beneath gum margins
• examine lymph nodes and gums for signs of disease
• apply fluoride and other cavity-preventing agents
• chart decay and disease for dentist diagnosis and treatment
• expose and develop x-ray film
• make study-cast impressions
• remove sutures and dressings
• administer local anesthetic agents
• place and remove rubber dams, matrices, and temporary restorations
• place, carve, and finish amalgam restorations
• remove excess cement
• provide clinical services and oral health education.
