What you'll do

• Compile payroll data including hours, taxes, insurance, garnishments, and employee identification information
• enter payroll data and compute wages and deductions
• review calculations and correct errors
• update master payroll records for changes affecting net wages
• record employee transfers between departments
• prorate expenses for cost accounting
• prepare earnings, tax, and deduction reports
• maintain leave-pay and nontaxable-wage records
• prepare and issue paychecks.
