Personal Training Manager

The manager reports to the General Manager and leads the personal training program within Club Operations at Planet Fitness–Excel Fitness. The role combines team leadership with hands-on personal training to improve member experience, develop trainers, and grow the personal training business while maintaining a personal client schedule.

What you'll do

• Lead and develop personal trainers
• oversee training programs and trainer schedules
• recruit, interview, onboard, and train staff
• maintain a personal training schedule
• address member feedback
• promote fitness challenges and services
• track client sessions, billing, progress, and performance metrics
• support daily club operations, safety, cleanliness, and compliance
• implement sales and marketing strategies.

Why this role

The position supervises up to 15 personal trainers, requires an active NCCA-accredited personal training certification or a bachelor’s degree in exercise science or kinesiology, and includes two Saturdays per month from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Up to 5% travel is expected.
