Job overview

The Java Developer role is hybrid in Northern Virginia, based in Falls Church, VA. Compensation is $125,000–$135,000 per year. The developer will support Sienna Systems’ U.S. Department of Homeland Security Customs and Border Protection TASPO/TASPD program. The role exists to maintain and extend trusted federal applications through software design, development, testing, and support. Working with developers, QA, product, and DevOps, the developer contributes to reliable services, technical decisions, and continuous improvement of application quality and team standards.

What you'll do

• Design, develop, test, and maintain Java applications and services
• develop and maintain RESTful APIs and integrations
• translate requirements into maintainable software
• participate in code reviews and architectural decisions
• write unit and integration tests
• troubleshoot defects, performance issues, and production problems
• develop SQL queries and data-access components
• participate in Agile/Scrum activities
• collaborate across QA, product, DevOps, and development
• and improve application quality, processes, and team standards.
