Part-Time Pastry Chef

The Part-Time Pastry Chef role is onsite in San Jose, CA. Pay is $25–$28 per hour, depending on experience. Lunch With Tony LLC’s Smashing Dishes and Tony Caters operate off-site catering businesses, event food service, and two cafés in the Bay Area. The pastry chef prepares and presents desserts and baked goods for catered events, collaborating with culinary and production teams to meet client requests, event schedules, and food-safety and quality standards. The role contributes creative dessert offerings and reliable production for weddings, corporate events, private parties, and other catered functions.

What you'll do

• Prepare, bake, assemble, decorate, and finish desserts, pastries, cakes, cookies, and tarts
• create dessert presentations
• follow standardized recipes
• assist with seasonal menus and new concepts
• prepare customized desserts for client requests, themes, and dietary requirements
• meet production schedules
• package, label, store, and organize desserts
• maintain a clean and sanitary work area
• monitor inventory and supplies
• follow food-safety rules
• coordinate with culinary and event teams
• assist with loading and event preparation as needed.
