The Lead Winding Specialist, Filament Winding role is onsite in San Diego, CA. Compensation is $32–$38 per hour. The position leads the Filament Winding Department at Applied Composites, a provider of composite components, assemblies, engineering, and tooling for aerospace, defense, and space markets. The role combines hands-on winding-machine operation with crew direction and oversight of composite-part processing. It supports safe, compliant production, quality standards, schedule performance, and process efficiency.

What you'll do

• Direct daily work of the Filament Winding crew
• operate winding machines and software
• oversee final processing of composite parts
• monitor gauges and machine operation
• adjust process parameters
• inspect and maintain equipment
• coordinate machine changeovers
• ensure standard procedures and quality checks
• report production output and process issues
• support improvements and resin or coating mixing.
