Job overview
The Sandblaster / Surface Prep Technician role is onsite in Henderson, NC, with a Monday–Friday schedule from 6:00 AM to 5:00 PM; compensation is $18–$22 per hour. Edwards Unlimited is a metal fabrication and powder coating shop, and this role prepares metal parts for coating. The technician removes rust, mill scale, and old paint, then cleans and prepares parts for powder coating. The work supports the shop’s finishing process by ensuring parts are properly prepared and organized for coating.
What you'll do
- Sandblast steel and aluminum parts
- grind, deburr, wash, and dry parts
- plug threaded holes and mask areas
- hang parts on racks
- unload cooled parts and remove plugs and tape
- keep the blast area clean
- follow shop instructions and use a blast hood and suit.
