The Deputy Head of Contracts & Asset Management is an onsite role based in Washington, DC. , with a range of $72,400 to $222,500 annually, and this position supports the Contracts & Asset Management Group at the Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory (APL). This role exists to partner with the Group Head in leading a team of approximately 50 professionals. The Deputy Head oversees daily operations, contributes to strategic initiatives, and ensures compliance and excellence in contracting activities to support the laboratory's mission.

What you'll do

• Oversee day-to-day operations of the contracting organization
• partner with the Group Head on strategic initiatives
• coach and develop staff
• establish performance metrics
• provide expertise on FAR/DFARS and contract negotiations
• lead process modernization and digital tool adoption.
