What you'll do

• Assist press operators
• power up and down the log oven, extrusion press, and pullers
• prepare the billet oven and press according to the schedule
• lead the die out by building press pressure
• ensure metal transfers safely to pullers and the cooling table
• ensure billet butts are sheared
• monitor pounds per hour and verify metal runout for finished cut lengths
• document orders in press reports and the EPICS system
• identify and report safety hazards.
