Mechanical Project Engineer

Job overview

The Mechanical Project Engineer role is onsite in Downers Grove, IL, with compensation of $100,000–$150,000 per year. The Project Engineering team supports successful, timely project execution while maintaining or improving contract profitability and customer satisfaction. The role develops engineering designs and documentation, coordinates with suppliers and cross-functional teams, and supports project execution. It may also serve as Project Manager on select projects, overseeing scope, schedule, and execution.

What you'll do

• Develop process layouts, equipment designs, engineering documentation, technical solutions, and assembly drawings. Design customized equipment solutions, including pump and motor sizing and pneumatic, electro-pneumatic, and electrical routing. Work with suppliers on machine functionality and utility requirements
• develop specifications, basis of design, and proposals
• support purchasing
• interface with construction teams
• and provide site visit and observation reports. Ensure designs meet specifications and regulations, including OSHA and USDA standards.
