What you'll do

• Explain procedures and prepare and position patients
• adjust sonographic equipment and settings to obtain clear images
• monitor patient safety and comfort
• examine images and determine whether an exam should be extended based on preliminary findings
• present sonograms and preliminary findings to physicians
• maintain records and EMR
• assist during invasive procedures
• clean equipment, maintain supplies, and perform quality-control checks.
