Senior Piping Designer

Job overview

The Senior Piping Designer role is onsite in Lombard, IL. Compensation is $90,000–$150,000 per year. The position supports Valdes Architecture & Engineering’s industrial projects across energy, manufacturing, and infrastructure. The designer leads piping design and plant layout from concept through construction, developing models and detailed deliverables while coordinating with other disciplines. The role also reviews vendor drawings, supports field execution, mentors junior designers, and helps improve project standards and delivery.

What you'll do

• Lead piping design and plant layout for industrial projects from concept through construction
• develop 3D models, layouts, and detailed design deliverables
• collaborate with mechanical, structural, electrical, and I&C teams
• review vendor drawings for quality and constructability
• support field work and resolve execution issues
• guide and mentor junior designers
• manage multiple projects while balancing quality, schedule, and budget
• improve design standards and workflows.
