The K–8 Substitute Teacher role is onsite in Parker, CO. Pay is $160 per full-day assignment or $80 per half-day assignment. Parker Core Knowledge delivers a rigorous Core Knowledge curriculum and has received a 2023 National Blue Ribbon School award. The substitute teacher instructs students using classroom teachers’ plans and curriculum, maintains a productive learning environment, and oversees students in and outside the classroom. The role also records attendance and daily notes and provides the returning teacher with a summary of the day.

What you'll do

• Instruct students in kindergarten through grade 8 using classroom teacher plans
• follow designated procedures, lesson plans, and curriculum
• maintain classroom management and a productive learning environment
• follow school policies and safety procedures
• use computers and audiovisual materials to supplement teaching
• maintain FERPA confidentiality
• supervise students in hallways and cafeteria
• take attendance and document daily notes
• keep the classroom orderly
• prepare a summary for the returning teacher.
