Direct Support Professional (DSP)

The Direct Support Professional (DSP) role is onsite in Oak Ridge, TN. Pay is $18.67 per hour on average, with applicable weekday and weekend shift differentials. Emory Valley Center supports adults and children with intellectual and developmental disabilities in building independence, relationships, and community participation. This role provides safe, respectful, person-centered support that helps individuals pursue personal goals and live more self-directed lives. The DSP assists with daily activities, follows individual medical and support plans, and communicates needs and updates to the care team.

What you'll do

• Support daily living activities such as cooking, dressing, grooming, and household routines
• encourage independence, personal choice, problem-solving, and individual goals
• support community participation and relationships
• monitor and report physical, emotional, and behavioral needs
• administer medications and follow individual medical and support plans
• implement behavior-support plans using positive approaches
• maintain a safe, clean environment
• complete documentation and communicate updates to the team.
