Senior Residential Counselor – Community Residence

The Senior Residential Counselor – Community Residence role is onsite in West Babylon, NY, with pay of $22 per hour. The schedule is Sunday through Thursday, 7:30 a.m.–3:30 p.m. Mercy Haven provides homes and services to people in crisis, including adults living with severe mental illness. The role helps residents build independent-living skills and self-sufficiency while supporting safe household operations, counseling, behavioral intervention, crisis management, and coordinated service planning.

What you'll do

• Supervise household management and schedule fire drills
• coordinate shopping, cooking, laundry, maintenance, recreation, meals, and household functions
• coordinate staff coverage and contacts with local service providers
• conduct resident meetings
• train and assist residents with daily living and financial management
• provide counseling, behavioral intervention, and crisis management
• perform rotating on-call duties for three residences
• document resident activities
• follow medication procedures
• oversee service planning, case conferences, discharge planning, Medicaid billing, and rehabilitative services.
