The Distribution Design Manager is an onsite, full-time role based in Minneapolis, MN, with an annual salary range of $97,600 to $138,600. This position supports Xcel Energy by leading design activities for the electric distribution system. This role exists to ensure customer expectations are met through innovative and cost-effective designs. The manager is responsible for leading a team of designers, balancing customer needs with company standards, and providing technical support to construction and operations teams.

What you'll do

• Provide leadership and overall direction for distribution design activities, including planning and budgeting.
• Develop, select, and retain a multi-functional, diversified, well-trained, motivated, and empowered workforce.
• Responsible for effective, efficient, and competitive utilization of design resources.
• Establish the unit's business plan, goals, and objectives.
• Participate in formal company efforts to streamline processes, maintain safety goals, and reduce costs.
• Provide mentoring and training to new hires and existing designers.
• Share responsibility for after-hours on-call duty and assist in storm restoration efforts.
