Residential Counselor

Job overview

The Residential Counselor role is onsite in Lenoir, NC, at a structured 24-hour residential facility. Compensation is $16–$17 per hour. The role supports at-risk youth in working toward treatment goals and stepping down to a lower level of care. The counselor provides therapeutic care, supervision, and structured daily support to residents. By following treatment plans and program models, leading groups, and supporting daily living and family connections, the role contributes to residents’ safety and progress toward their goals.

What you'll do

• Understand client treatment needs
• review and contribute to treatment plans
• provide therapeutic care according to agency standards
• maintain a daily schedule
• lead at least one daily group
• supervise clients continuously, including during sleep hours
• assist with chores, homework, meals, and psycho-educational activities
• support family visitation
• document and report as required
• attend meetings and training
• participate in quality improvement and safety programs.
