What you'll do

• Schedule surgical procedures without conflicts and determine case length and special equipment needs
• enter information into the electronic health record and coordinate insurance verifications
• maintain CPT and ICD-9 codes
• maintain and distribute surgery schedules
• obtain physician signatures when required
• communicate by telephone
• protect patient confidentiality and handle protected health information appropriately
• and report safety concerns.
