Registered Nurse, Inpatient Psychiatry

The position supports two inpatient mental health units at the UVM Medical Center, including a 16-bed locked unit serving voluntary and involuntary individuals and a 12-bed locked unit primarily for voluntary patients needing acute mental health care. The RN contributes to psychiatric and medical care through assessment, treatment planning, and participation in treatment rounds. As part of a multidisciplinary team, the nurse helps coordinate care for patients in the inpatient mental health units.

What you'll do

• Participate in treatment plans and treatment rounds
• provide psychiatric assessment and care as well as medical and surgical assessment and care
• work with MHT/LNAs, RNs, providers, social workers/case managers, and group therapists
• train to cover the Charge RN role and to precept.
