What you'll do

• Assist with instruction for students with special needs
• provide individual and small-group academic support
• review student histories, education plans, and lesson plans as directed
• help develop learning materials and exercises
• support motor-control activities
• observe behavior and assist with safety and positive reinforcement
• prepare classroom work areas and displays
• operate instructional and office equipment
• maintain routine student and classroom records
• assist with clerical tasks and attendance
• monitor students during playground, lunch, trips, and bus transitions
• confer with teachers
• attend meetings and training
• translate communications as needed
• provide first aid in emergencies according to guidelines.
