The Residence Program Specialist, Evening role is onsite in Jamaica, NY. Compensation is $20.17 per hour after probation. Human First serves people with developmental disabilities in New York City through person-centered residential and other support services. The specialist supports residents’ care, development, and independence in a safe, respectful, homelike setting. Through daily living assistance, individualized goals, documentation, and advocacy, the role helps residents pursue personal goals and quality of life.

What you'll do

• Support residents’ independence and personal development
• ensure safety, health, and well-being
• teach and assist with daily living skills
• implement individualized program goals
• document activities and progress
• respond to crises and medical emergencies
• follow behavior management guidelines
• administer medications as approved medication administration personnel under nursing supervision
• provide transportation as needed
• assist with meals, housekeeping, and laundry
• protect resident confidentiality and rights.

Why this role
