Specialty Commercial Construction Estimator

Job overview

The Specialty Commercial Construction Estimator role is onsite in Lincoln, NE. Compensation is $22–$28 per hour. The position supports Empire’s specialty commercial construction projects by preparing estimates and bids that help set projects up for success. The estimator reviews project documents, develops cost estimates, and coordinates pricing with subcontractors and suppliers. Accurate, well-supported bids help the team assess project scope, identify risks and opportunities, and plan preconstruction work.

What you'll do

• Review drawings, blueprints, specifications, and project documents
• prepare material, labor, and equipment takeoffs
• develop cost estimates and bid proposals
• gather and evaluate subcontractor and supplier pricing
• identify risks and cost-saving opportunities
• attend pre-bid meetings and jobsite visits when needed
• prepare RFIs, review addenda, and update estimates
• support budgets, scheduling, and preconstruction planning.
