Job overview
The RF Design Engineer role is onsite in San Diego, CA. Compensation is $115,000–$200,000 per year for individuals located in the San Diego area. The role supports TrellisWare’s Hardware Team, which develops wireless communications systems and radio products. The engineer designs and develops receive and transmit chains for handheld and vehicular radios, balancing performance, power, and size requirements. The work spans system and component design, documentation, testing, debugging, and collaboration to move products from prototype through production.
What you'll do
- Perform system-level RF design, component selection, and cascade analysis using AWR Microwave Office
- design custom discrete filters and amplifiers
- enter RF schematics and ideally support PCB layout using Altium
- generate design documentation
- validate and debug product performance through testing and analysis
- collaborate with Product Management and Operations to advance development from prototype to production.

Why this role
Requires a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field and 5 years of experience with an MSEE or 7 years with a BSEE. U.S. citizenship or permanent residency is required.
