The Lifeguard — Lakewood Ranch YMCA role is onsite in Bradenton, FL. Compensation is $14–$17 per hour. The lifeguard works under the Aquatics Coordinator or Director to help keep YMCA pool participants safe. The role exists to maintain continuous pool-area surveillance and respond promptly to emergencies while applying YMCA safety procedures. It also supports a clean, prepared aquatic area and positive relationships with members, participants, and staff.

What you'll do

• Maintain constant surveillance of the pool
• know and follow emergency procedures
• apply pool safety rules
• swim-test first-time swimmers and refer potential medical concerns to the Aquatics Director
• maintain cleanliness
• keep required records
• check equipment and pool conditions
• perform chemical testing
• attend required meetings and training.
