Core Technician — Drill Core Processing

The Core Technician — Drill Core Processing role is onsite in Sahuarita, AZ; compensation is not specified. The technician supports the geology department by handling, processing, and sampling or cutting diamond drill core, along with basic labor support. The role prepares core and samples for geological review and laboratory analysis by organizing, photographing, measuring, cutting, documenting, and storing materials. Accurate handling and sample records help geologists and the project team assess drill core and move samples through the required workflow.

What you'll do

• Receive, handle, and move drill core boxes and pallets using a pallet jack, forklift, or by hand
• arrange boxes and check block footage
• photograph core and perform photo quality checks, labeling, and sorting
• conduct specific gravity measurements, point-load tests, and other in-situ tests
• cut core according to training procedures and insert QA/QC samples
• complete cutting logs and lab analysis forms
• palletize and store core boxes
• deliver samples to the mine-site assay lab as required
• prepare samples and shipment batch lists
• maintain housekeeping and use proper PPE and tools
• clean the warehouse and sample areas
• operate a forklift after proper training
• store pulps and rejects as required
• collaborate with the project team, communicate with the supervisor, and assist geologists as required.
