IT Security Specialist — Systems Administration

Job overview

The IT Security Specialist — Systems Administration role is hybrid in Brigham City, UT, with two required in-office days per week. Pay is $45–$50 per hour. The role supports enterprise infrastructure across on-premises, virtualized, hybrid, and cloud environments. The specialist administers and secures infrastructure, manages vulnerabilities and patching, and supports compliance and audit work. Automation, documentation, and coordination with IT teams help maintain secure, reliable systems while minimizing operational disruption.

What you'll do

• Administer Windows, Linux, VMware, and cloud infrastructure
• implement security baselines, access controls, and hardening standards
• identify, prioritize, track, and remediate vulnerabilities
• coordinate operating-system and infrastructure patching and validate deployments
• assess configurations against security standards and support audits
• secure virtual machines and cloud services
• use Tanium or similar tools for asset discovery, endpoint management, vulnerability assessment, patching, and remediation
• develop PowerShell, Bash, or Python automation
• troubleshoot infrastructure and security issues
• maintain incident and change records
• document configurations, standards, patching, and remediation procedures.
