Wastewater Maintenance Technician

The Wastewater Maintenance Technician role is full-time and onsite in Jackson, MI. Pay is $19.75–$21.75 per hour. Jackson Tumble Finish provides metal-finishing services to customers across industries including automotive, agriculture, medical, and marine. The technician operates and maintains the facility’s industrial wastewater treatment systems to treat manufacturing effluent in accordance with discharge standards and reduce equipment downtime. The role monitors treatment conditions, performs testing and maintenance, maintains compliance records, and coordinates with production teams as wastewater characteristics change.

What you'll do

• Monitor and adjust treatment systems, flows, chemical feeds, and pumps
• create and follow standard operating procedures
• collect wastewater samples and perform routine analyses including pH, free acid, total acid, and total suspended solids
• maintain digital logs, titration data, inventory, and shift reports
• ensure compliance with permits and pretreatment standards
• perform preventive and corrective maintenance on valves, pumps, blowers, and piping
• safely handle and store treatment chemicals
• coordinate with production teams regarding wastewater changes.

Why this role
