What you'll do

• Cook food in quantities based on menus and the number of people served
• follow recipes and diet orders
• bake breads and pastries, cut meats, and serve meals
• label and store leftovers
• follow cleaning schedules and sanitation rules
• maintain personal hygiene and a clean work area
• wear hair nets and gloves while handling food
• document refrigerator and freezer temperatures
• prepare or pull food for the following day
• clean and sanitize work areas and equipment
• maintain inventory and meal-count records
• receive deliveries and provide delivery records to the Dietary Supervisor
• direct assisting workers and enforce food sanitation and protective-equipment guidelines.
