Director of Human Resources

Job overview

The Director of Human Resources role is onsite in the Madison or Menomonie area of Wisconsin; the stated pay range is $150,000–$170,000 per year. The director leads HR across Prototek’s multi-site organization and partners with executive leadership, managers, and employees. The role combines HR leadership with direct involvement in employee relations, compliance, talent, compensation, benefits, payroll, systems, and workforce planning. It builds team capability and supports organizational changes while aligning people practices with operational needs.

What you'll do

• Lead and develop the HR team
• partner with executive and operational leaders on workforce strategy
• handle complex employee relations matters, investigations, and manager coaching
• lead performance management, compensation, benefits, and talent initiatives
• support reorganizations and workforce changes
• develop workforce metrics and recommendations
• manage HR vendors, budgets, and external partners
• travel to company locations as needed.
