Lead Thermal Engineer

The Lead Thermal Engineer role is onsite at one of the listed locations: Moriarty, NM, or North Bay, CA. Compensation is $120,000–$240,000 per year. Sceye develops stratospheric platforms for communications, imaging, and remote sensing. The engineer owns thermal design, analysis, and validation for high-altitude aerospace platforms. The work helps ensure reliable performance of avionics, structures, propulsion-adjacent systems, and payloads in stratospheric operating conditions, supporting system design, risk mitigation, and mission readiness.

What you'll do

• Design and optimize active and passive thermal control systems
• perform steady-state and transient analyses
• develop and validate thermal models
• support material and thermal-interface selection
• define thermal requirements and operating limits
• support environmental testing
• analyze test data and update designs
• collaborate across engineering and manufacturing teams
• document analyses and test results
• support design reviews and risk assessments.
