Activities Assistant

What you'll do

• Support treatment goals and therapeutic recreation modalities under the Recreation Therapy Director’s guidance
• monitor participation and responses to activity therapy and report observations
• observe functioning, engagement, and behavior
• participate in assigned treatment team conferences
• document observations and interventions in treatment and discharge documentation
• implement assigned treatment-plan components
• assist with activity programming
• instruct clients in safe equipment use
• follow patient safety protocols and complete checks
• attend training
• support limit-setting and approved de-escalation with the treatment team
• report safety concerns to clinical staff. Activities Assistants may complete recreational therapy assessments, subject to review and co-signature by a CTRS.
