Operating Room Technician

The Operating Room Technician role is onsite in Lancaster, SC, and compensation is not specified. The position supports the operating room unit at the Medical University Hospital Authority. Under licensed personnel’s direction and supervision, the role assists with patient care and daily operating room functions. It helps prepare rooms and equipment for procedures, supports patient positioning and transport, and completes room turnover tasks.

What you'll do

• Obtain equipment, supplies, and positioning aids for operative cases
• assist with operating room setup, surgical preparation, and patient positioning under the RN circulator’s direction
• transport dirty instruments and equipment to decontamination
• clean and turn over rooms between cases
• transport patients
• check case carts for required supplies and equipment.

Why this role

Previous experience working in an operating room as an ORA is required. A high school diploma or GED and current American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification are required.
