Job overview
Nuclear Medicine Technologist PRN in Pflugerville, TX. This is an onsite position. Compensation is not specified. Heart Hospital of Austin is part of HCA Healthcare. This role is responsible for gathering diagnostic information through the use of radioactive materials, operating radiation detecting and imaging equipment, and providing radioactive materials for physician use.
What you'll do
- Perform Nuclear Medicine exams in a timely manner, document required information, and communicate to primary physician and direct care staff pertinent information.
- Coordinate and assist the care of patients assigned in collaboration with other technologists, physicians, nurses and allied health staff.
- Evaluate patient condition in order to adequately perform radiology exams.
- Inform and explain procedure to be performed to patients and what is expected in terms of his/her cooperation.
- Provide comprehensive direct patient care and assure a safe and comforting environment.
- Consult with other staff as necessary to meet the needs of the patient and family.
- Assure that the necessary clinical equipment and supplies are available and are safely utilized. Perform Point of Care procedures in a timely manner according to established policy and procedure.
