Assistant Manager, Airport Car Rental Operations

Job overview

The Assistant Manager role is onsite in Fletcher, NC, and primarily involves nights and weekends. Compensation is $45,000–$55,000 per year. The role supports GSP Transportation’s airport location operations. The assistant manager directs and develops the location team, monitors operational and financial performance, and serves as acting Airport Manager when needed. The role supports revenue, customer satisfaction, fleet readiness, and safe, compliant operations through staff leadership and process improvement.

What you'll do

• Oversee daily airport location operations and performance
• act as Airport Manager in the manager’s absence and make decisions on staffing, operations, and customer matters
• monitor fleet and sales KPIs
• lead process improvements
• supervise, schedule, coach, and evaluate staff
• participate in hiring and discipline
• approve timecards, overtime, attendance, and time-off requests
• coach upselling and track incremental revenue
• review financial data and develop revenue and expense strategies
• resolve escalated customer concerns
• ensure vehicles are clean, fueled, inspected, and ready
• maintain vehicle inventory
• ensure safety and regulatory compliance and document incidents and damage.
