The Collector role is a hybrid position based at Consumers Credit Union’s headquarters in Lake Forest, IL, with two days onsite and three days remote. The schedule is primarily Monday through Friday during 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. operating hours, with one day scheduled until 6:00 p.m. and Saturday hours from 9:00 a.m.–1:00 p.m. Compensation is $20.16–$30.25 per hour, with eligibility for an annual bonus opportunity. The role supports the Collections team in helping credit union members resolve early-stage delinquency. The Collector works with members to understand payment options, establish arrangements, and move past-due accounts toward resolution. Accurate account records, timely follow-up, and coordination with other departments help maintain effective collections and improve processes.

What you'll do

• Communicate with members by inbound and outbound calls about past-due payments
• explain payment options and establish appropriate arrangements
• educate members about online banking, payment tools, and resources
• manage early-stage delinquent auto loan, credit card, and home equity line accounts
• document conversations, account status, arrangements, and collection activity
• review queues and follow-up tasks
• assist with repossession-related cases and explain available options
• respond to collection-related emails
• monitor payment activity and share trends with management
• collaborate on process improvements and departmental projects.
