The operator monitors and runs automated sawmill equipment to produce lumber to specification, maintain quality, and maximize recovery while minimizing waste. Routine cleaning, oiling, jam clearing, and safety practices help keep production equipment operating effectively.

What you'll do

• Operate automated head rig, saw, and planing equipment to cut, trim, and shape logs and rough lumber
• monitor equipment performance, lumber flow, and computer screens
• check cuts and wood flow for quality and optimal recovery
• clean and oil machinery
• clear jams from equipment and conveyors
• follow established safety procedures and maintain a safe work environment.
