Office Nurse / Certified Medical Assistant (Float) — Part-Time

The Office Nurse / Certified Medical Assistant (Float) role is onsite in Mount Carmel, IL, with a Monday–Friday schedule from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Compensation is not specified. The float supports Wabash General Hospital District’s family practice and specialty office settings. The role assists providers in delivering office-based care across varied clinical settings. It contributes to patient care by supporting examinations and treatments, maintaining records and supplies, communicating with patients and families, and helping coordinate tests and follow-up.

What you'll do

• Take vital signs
• assist with treatments and medication administration
• monitor medication usage
• update electronic patient records
• discuss medical questions with patients and families and make referrals
• support patient education, infection control, and quality improvement
• prepare and sterilize exam and treatment rooms
• maintain supplies and equipment
• screen calls and relay messages
• perform diagnostic and proficiency testing and maintain testing records
• assist with scheduling tests and treatments
• complete FMLA and workers’ compensation forms accurately and promptly.
