The Head Start Instructional Assistant role is onsite in Springfield, KY, with an 8-hour Monday–Friday schedule. Compensation is not specified. Central Kentucky Community Action Council supports preschool children through Head Start programming. Under the Head Start Teacher’s direction, the assistant helps implement learning experiences that support children’s social, emotional, physical, and educational development. Classroom support, child assessment, and a safe learning environment contribute to children’s progress.

• Assist with varied learning experiences
• support English Language Learners’ progress in their primary language and English
• incorporate children’s interests into classroom activities
• help maintain a safe and healthy environment and required teacher-child ratios
• assist with child assessments and classroom documentation
• complete annual training and professional development.
